Derry Moore is Senior Linguist at Decodis and uses his unique capabilities in understanding the cross between social engagement and language as a foundation to our methods. As head of speech signal analysis, he decodes participant's discourse beyond just the content of what they say, untangling meaning from how they say it as well. Derry has fifteen years of experience and study in sociolinguistics – from a Bachelor’s in Linguistics from Millersville University to a Master's and Ph.D. (ABD) at the State University of New York, Buffalo.
Working on Decodis' projects all around the world, Derry has applied his linguistic skillset to various official and local languages having done work with data in English, Spanish, Guarani, Hindi, Bangla, Xhosa, Zulu, Sotho, Afrikaans, Swahili, Asante Twi besides numerous others. As our array of projects continue to grow, Derry continues to explore work in different languages.
His language skills extend beyond linguistics, having spent time during the past decade as a writing instructor, coach, and consultant.
